Philanthropy
Kappa Delta has five main philanthropies. These philanthropies are a way of allowing the active members of Kappa Delta along with the community reach out to those in need both locally and nationally.
Philanthropy is a way for Kappa Delta's across the nation to not only get more involved in their community but to reach out and share their gifts and talents with those who are not as fortunate.
Another one of our philanthropies is Girl Scouts of America. With this philanthropy we travel to local Girl Scout troop meetings and help out with activities. Being with the girl scouts and assisting their meetings enables them to see older women showing an active interest in their lives.
Most of us have heard of the Dove Campaign. Kappa Delta has teamed up with the Dove Campaign to promote high self-esteem in the girls of America. In doing this, we work with the Girl Scouts to help them realize the true meaning of beauty.
One of our biggest philanthropies is Prevent Child Abuse America. We hold a Golf Classic along with a 5K every year to help raise money for those in and around the Lansing area.
Lastly we raise money for the Orthopedic Research Awards and Children's Hospital of Virginia. Philanthropy is a way for Kappa Delta's across the country to not only get more involved in their community but to reach out and share their gifts and talents with those who are not as fortunate.
In keeping with our founder's first philanthropy, each year we raise money for the Orthopedic Research Awards and Children's Hospital of Virginia. Because our organization began in Longwood, Virginia, the founders chose a local hospital as the very first philanthropy of Kappa Delta. To this day, we continue to contribute to the hospital.
In 2009, Kappa Delta Sorority was pleased to announce their newest philanthropy- the Confidence Coalition! Through the partnership with other organizations, companies and individuals, the Confidence Coalition seeks to promote confidence within the girls and women of the country.
