Kappa Delta Philanthropies
- Girl Scouts of the USA
- 1. Girls Scouts of the USA was adopted as a Kappa Delta national philanthropy in 1998.
- 2. Each year, the Alpha Alpha chapter at Michigan State University pairs with a local Girl Scout troop to enjoy fun activities with one another. Aside from the fun we have with the Girl Scouts, we also aspire to be their role models.
- Prevent Child Abuse America
- 1. Each year, Kappa Delta hosts its Golf Classic event at a nearby Golf Course to raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America.
- 2. Across the country, Kappa Deltas have given nearly 8 million dollars and donated countless volunteer hours to support the prevention of child abuse.
- 3. Kappa Delta was the first sorority to choose prevention of child abuse as one of its national philanthropies
- Children's Hospital of Richmond, Virginia
- 1. Kappa Delta has been helping support the Children's Hospital of Richmond, Virginia since 1921.
- 2. Currently, Kappa Delta chapters across the nation donate $25,000 dollars annually to support this important commitment.
- Orthopedic Research Awards
- 1. Since 1950, Kappa Delta has funded orthopedic research awards through the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
- 2. Since our first donation of $1,000 in 1950, Kappa Deltas nationwide have donated over $1,000,000 to support the awards.
- 3. There are three Kappa Delta Orthopedic Research Awards, each amounting to $20,000. These are awards are considered one of the highest recognitions of the academy.
